About Bright Paws Learning

A warm, nature-filled early learning centre in Hamilton — built around play, whānau and the belief that every child deserves a bright start.

Our story

A brand-new centre with big-hearted roots

Bright Paws Learning was created for one simple reason: to give Hamilton tamariki a place where learning feels like play, and every child is known, celebrated and safe.

We’re small on purpose. Little groups, unhurried days and kaiako who have time to sit on the floor, listen and wonder alongside your child. Nature is our second classroom — gardens, mud, bugs and all.

Our expert kaiako

Fiona

Centre Manager

With over 15 years of experience in the field of education, Fiona is a seasoned professional dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all children. Her teaching approach is anchored in a partnership with Te Tiriti o Waitangi and guided by Te Whāriki, aligning closely with the New Zealand Curriculum. Fiona believes in the vital role of integrating family, whānau, and community into each child’s learning journey. Her aim is to cultivate each child’s social, physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual growth, supporting them to become independent, creative, and imaginative. Through her efforts, she equips children with the skills necessary to become lifelong learners.

Juanita

Centre Owner

A proud mum of four, wife, and owner of Kowhai Consultancy Services, Juanita operates three Early Childhood Education centres across the Bay of Plenty. After years of parenting, she set out to build the kind of ECE space she wished her own children had had — one where families feel like whānau, not clients. At the heart of her work is the desire to build a nurturing space for children and families, where everyone feels valued, heard, and supported.
